Sabrina & Jimmy (@wandxrbus)

Meet Sabrina and Jimmy Horel--the couple behind @wandxrbus. Sabrina and Jimmy quit their jobs in construction and finance and now travel across the US in a converted 1973 VW van. Today, they own their own digital agency and the road is their home.

When it came to their perfect home on wheels, the couple knew exactly what they wanted--a VW. To them, the van is a way they can time travel. VW vans are reminiscent of the 1960’s and 1970’s when hippies travelled across the country in them or families took them camping and to the beach. “VW vans represent classic American freedom, people see us and smile,” says the couple, “...hippies never die.”

They’re seasoned backpackers and have spent time in Europe, Africa, Australia and Southeast Asia. The VW is a huge upgrade from the backpacker life, allowing them to explore places that are off the beaten path in much more depth. SInce purchasing their van they’ve traveled back and forth across the US and Canada several times--visiting over twenty states.

Like many people living a reformed life, the couple express gratitude for the simple things. They live in the present moment with a high level of awareness of what’s truly important in life. Although most days are good days, the couple acknowledges that their lifestyle is far from glamorous and at times can get uncomfortable (think waking up to a flat tire or breaking down on the side of the road). But when all is said and done, the couple wouldn’t have it any other way. “You appreciate the little things, like a cool breeze or watching your lover smile.”

The couple is finishing up their US adventure as they travel from North Carolina to New York. Their next challenge? Europe. Stay tuned @wanderxbus
