Mindless noise

Most mornings, we hear the song of birds.

That morning chirp (the dawn chorus) is far from mindless sound... its an essential part of their communication. It advertises their presence, attracts some and warns others to stay off their turf. Its a fundamental tool that helps birds manage their relationships.

But birds aren’t the only ones that chirp, we do too. The difference is with social media ... our chirps broadcast louder and further, becoming instantly tied to a global network. And by compounding each of our chirps its made the internet a unbelievably noisy place.

When you chirp, don't just add to the noise, instead focus on sharing only what is meaningful and don't forget if someone chirps too much... you can stop listening.
