Stop being thoughtful
Being thoughtful is not what its made out to be because our thoughts are out of control.
That little voice in our head talks endlessly. It’s relentless, it makes up stories, it’s unfiltered, and it’s emotional.
While we can’t escape endless thought, we can be mindful of it. We can become aware of the quality of thought, acknowledge it, and return to peace in the present moment instead of suffering.
In short, we can’t control our thought, but we can steer our focus. We can avoid being stuck as a passenger in a car that’s going to wreck.
And sometimes when we grab the wheel, we still will crash. That pain is unavoidable, but the suffering from our thought is voluntary.
